Remote Control Airplane Flying For The First Time

Did you ever stare up in the sky and see an airplane zoom by and wonder how much fun it would be to control one? I did. I still want to become a pilot eventually, but for now I having fun flying my remote control airplane. At first, I admit, it was a challenge to learn how to fly one, but with patience and practice; I learned how to effectively control a remote control airplane. There are many types of remote control airplanes to choose from. To start, buy a cheaper airplane since more than likely, you will crash a few times as you learn how to coordinate yourself.

There are some books, DVDs and software on the Internet that will help you learn how to control a remote control airplane. They will give you a sense of what to expect when you first launch your airplane for the first time. Nothing beats hands-on experience though. Personally I have learn that the hardest part is learning how to control the remote control airplane the way you want regardless of the which way it is facing you. When you are driving a car, you are always facing the front of the car, but with any remote control vehicle, this is not the case. If the remote control airplane is facing directly at you, pushing left on the control stick will move the airplane to your right. Confusing? Yes at first it will be, but always be aware of which way your airplane is flying. If you lose sight of the remote control airplane and cannot determine which way it is facing, it might be too late. When you are first learning, fly the plane at a low height and not too far from you. Again, this bears repeating, always be aware of which way the airplane is facing. That is rule number one of flying an airplane. Another very important tip: Your first few flights should concentrate on trimming the airplane. This means settings the trim control on the airplane so that whenever you are not touching the controls, the airplane is flying straight and level. If you do not perform trimming flight tests, then your remote control airplane flying will be erratic, frustrating and difficult to control. Trust me, I found out the hard way.

When thinking about buying your first remote control airplane, take into consideration that most of the cheaper airplanes do not have options for modifying the signal frequency of the transmitter. If you see other people flying their remote control airplanes, boats or cars; you might experience random movement of your airplane while it is on because of interference. If this is the case, then go to another park or come by later. You do not want your plane to not respond to you while it is flying away from you. Be aware also that most electronic remote control airplanes have a low flight time of 5-15 minutes. I think the reason for this is that a larger battery with more capacity will weigh too much for the remote control airplane to fly. After choosing a remote control airplane, what I like to do if to buy spare batteries so that I can be flying for at least 30 minutes. Until battery technology improves, this is what electronic remote control airplane hobbyists will have to deal with. Gas powered airplanes are more expensive, bigger and harder to maintain. They are great for the more hardcore crowd out there.

Just remember, the most important part is to have fun while remote control airplane flying. Be patient and do not get frustrated at failing. Practice with the training software available out there. Remember to buy a cheap airplane for your first remote control airplane! Be patient to learn, do not buy a $200 airplane, crash it and then hate the hobby. I had a blast my first time and working my way up to faster remote control airplanes now.

The Eurostar terminus has been at St Pancras since late 2007. With this, many new businesses and buildings have appeared. The old image is certainly in the past.
London Kings Cross and St Pancras International stations are famous and have stood since the mid 1880's. They have a combined usage of nearly 50 million travellers per year.The area is also infamous for being in the Harry Potter books with platform 9, and have cashed in on this with a plaque and a baggage trolley seemingly appearing to go through a solid brick wall.

Kings Cross St Pancras tube station has direct access to all the main underground lines. Thus Kings Cross is a key zone 1 station. The proposed Chelsea-Hackney line will also stop at the station. The underground station currently handles just over 66 million passengers a year. Anyone who has experienced Kings Cross underground station will tell you just how large and busy it is.

The area also has a number of attractions. Like the British Library which made its new home there in 1997. On the banks of the Regents Cancel is the 2 acre urban reserve that is Camley Street Natural Park. For those interested, the London Canal Museum is open for the history of London Canals.

For an excellent Kings Cross hotel and facilities, look no further than here. For those travelling on a budget- don't worry- there are many cheaper hotels St Pancras. The hotels are perfect for travellers since they are on the doorstep of the train station. If you are visiting from abroad, such as America or Europe, the area offers an excellent base for exploring the entire UK due to the excellent train connectivity from Londons Kings Cross train station.

There is still a great deal of things to explore both in the vicinity and in wider London which I dont have time to talk about here. So now you can plan a month's worth of travelling from your arm chair. Making you have more time to spend doing what you want in Londons Kings Cross.

How to Decide Which Rc Car to Buy

When it comes to deciding which RC car you’re going to spend your hard earned money on it's a tough call, this is a short guide to first time buys, who I'm sure are overwhelmed by not only the choice but also the types of RC cars available.

In a nut shell there are two basic categories:

Off-Road
This is generally considered to be the most popular, off road have several different sub classes like Monster Trucks, Rally Cars, Bashers and Truggies, with the latter being a kind of on/off-road

On-Road
This is my personal area of expertise, these are pure bred race machines built to eat tarmac, but it has to be good tarmac, even slightly ages parking lots will hurt these baby, the have the setup options that you'd expect to see on Nascar or F1 car, everything from camber to dampening can be adjusted.

There are also two main sub categories.

Electric.
This is the starting point for most people, I would suggest that you give this a try before you dive into anything that has a internal combustion engine. They are easy to maintain, relatively cheap, don't break half as much and are much, much cleaner. What these lack in power they make up for in precision, clip ever apex like a pro.

Nitro (a.k.a. Gas or Petrol RC)
The grand daddy of RC racing, these babies have incredible power, the Nitro engines also take a little getting used, unlike electric racers there is a slight delay in the throttle and breaking that you need to get used to, but if noise, smoke and power is your thing look no further. Nitro cars tend to not survive crashed as well as electrics due to the weight and speed at which the crash.

The basic rule of thumb is to stick to Electric until you are ready to race the Nitro’s they are insanely fast and a lot can go wrong, run out of batteries for example and the throttle might stick open. While on an electric the car won’t have the change to run away, with internal combustion it’s a different story...

So you've decided which main class you want, now you need to decide what the car will be used for, there is a huge difference between the weekend warrior who tears up his local parking lot and anyone who wants to take racing seriously.

A few tips on picking a good starter car:

2nd hand RC equipment has no resale value, which is good for you, look in forums and auction sites and you will save about 75% of the original cost, not to mention that most owners have several hops=ups and extra which they normally throw into the deal.

you need three things to get into RC, A Kit, The electronics for the kit (Speed controller, Receiver, Sero's, battery packs) and a Remote

Building the car yourself is easy and can be done in about 8 hours, but for the birthday boy it's best to get a RTR (Ready to race) as these most often come with all of the above, check the box before you buy it they will tell you what extra’s you need. A TT01 generally comes with everything you need apart from the remote, it's worth spending a bit more on the remote as this is something you will use over and over again.

Make sure that you will be able to find spares and hop-ups for the kit. (Important)

The best place to buy is the internet, this is true without a doubt, you get the best variety and prices from online stores.

Stay away from Nitro (Gas) powered RC cars until you can drive an electric one, electric RC cars are easy and cheap to maintain and give a lot less problems overall.

Which car to buy?
Personally I’d recommend a TT01 from Tamiya, they have amazing support world wide, while the car doesn’t have the finesse of a carbon fibre racing beast it can still compete, winning RC events is about consistency, not tire warmers (yes you get RC tire warmers, blew me away the first time, but I still ended up beating most of the “Tire-Warming-Pro’s”

The next step up from there is a Tamiya TA05, this is a belt driven RC car, while the TT01 is a shaft driven, there are some differences, but I’ll leave that for a different article. The TA05 can also take any motor, so you can race in all three classes (Stock, Super Stock and Mod)

Using one of the above cars is cost effective and a good way to see if RC Racing is something you might like to take to the next level. Once you have selected your car it’s time to get involved, the best way is to join a local racing club...

2007 Lamborghini Murcielago Review

A century-old tradition in bullfighting is to spare the life of a bull which shows outstanding courage in the arena. Such a bull was Murcielago, The Bat, spared by a famous matador after a breathtaking fight in the arena of Cordoba, some 130 years ago.

Much like the bull that gave it its name, the Lamborghini Murcielago belongs to a special breed of cars. With its 6,5 liter V12 engine, 640 BHP, an amazing 665 Nm torque and permanent 4-wheel drive, nothing can stand in it's way. 3,4 seconds is all it needs to get to 100 km/h, and if you keep your foot on the gas pedal, it will not stop until you reach a mind-blowing 340 km/h.

But this power comes at a price. The massive 12-cylinder engine requires an average of 21,3 l/100 km, and the car's fuel tank can carry (only!) 100 liters.

This 2-door, 2 seats coupe with a mid-mounted engine follows the traditional design successfully applied by Lamborghini for more than three decades. The gear box placed in front of the engine, the permanent four-wheel drive, along with the integration into the engine unit of the rear differential, are but a few of the advantages of such a displacement which result in an optimal weight distribution, 58% rear and 42% front, with positive effects on the car's handling, braking and traction.

The security of the car is ensured by the carbon fiber body, with steel doors and roof, and a tubular frame made from high-strength steel alloy with carbon fiber structural parts. The stopping power is ensured by power vacuum, aluminum alloy calipers (8 pistons front calipers and 4-pistons rear calipers), ventilated discs, and optional carbon-ceramic brakes, with 6 pistons break calipers (front-rear).

The interior aims for functionality, and lacks any useless or distracting elements. The optional equipment includes an "Interior Carbon Package", where the cover for the driver side display, dashboard cover, handbrake lever, armrest frame, gear lever cover, the air conditioning and radio covers are made entirely from carbon fibre, offering those really demanding customers an extra air of class.

Unlike the older models, the Murcielago brings a touch of practicality through it's design, which allows for more control over the car; however, the rear visibility remains poor.

Its name refers to a bull and a bat, but the Murcielago encompasses their features and beyond; the interior is reasonably comfortable for an exotic car, capable of going 300+ km/h. Used to its full potential, this car can provide one of the most thrilling sensations a driver will ever experience.

It doesn't necessarily have to be a supernatural "gift". It could just be finely tuned insight. You pay more attention than others to details and trends and are more willing to act on hunches. When the predictions don't pan out, you forget about them, and when they do, you collect them in your memory. So it looks like you have a track record.
